Care Instructions
Your extensions are made from 100% ethically sourced European hair. They behave like your natural hair in most ways — but they don't receive natural oils from your scalp the way your roots do. That means moisture, gentle handling, and consistency are everything.
Follow this guide and your hair will last. Skip it and no guarantee — ours or anyone else's — can save it.
Before Anything Else
Always use a sulfate-free, alcohol-free shampoo. Sulfates break down bonds and dry out the hair shaft.
Wash in a downward motion only. Never scrub in circular motions — this causes tangling and matting at the weft or bond.
Apply shampoo to the scalp and let it rinse gently through the lengths. Do not pile hair on top of your head.
Apply conditioner from mid-length to ends, avoiding the roots and extension attachment points.
Rinse thoroughly with cool or water. Hot water opens the cuticle and causes frizz, tangling and dryness.
Washing
.Never sleep on wet hair. This is one of the most common causes of matting.
Gently squeeze — never rub — excess water out with a microfiber towel or soft cotton t-shirt.
When blow drying, use a low to medium heat setting and always dry in a downward direction.
Drying
Always apply a heat protectant before any hot tool use — no exceptions.
Keep tools at or below 360°F. European hair is healthy and responsive; it does not need high heat to style.
Never apply heat directly to K-Tip bonds or Genius Weft seams.
Limit heat styling to 3–4 times per week to maintain longevity.
Heat Styling
Use a soft bristle brush or a loop brush designed for extensions. Never use a fine-tooth comb through lengths without detangling first.
Always hold the hair at the root or bond before brushing — never pull from the top down.
Brush morning and night minimum, and always before washing.
Start at the ends and work your way up in sections.
For K-Tips: be especially gentle around the bond area. Do not pick at or squeeze the bonds.
Brushing & Detangling
Sleeping
Always sleep with hair in a loose braid or low ponytail. Never sleep with hair loose.
Use a silk or satin pillowcase — it reduces friction, prevents tangling, and keeps the hair hydrated longer.
A silk sleep cap or bonnet is even better if you move around in your sleep.
Swimming & Exercise
Before swimming: braid hair and apply a leave-in conditioner or light oil to create a barrier.
Chlorine and saltwater are damaging to both the hair and bonds — rinse immediately after exposure.
For K-Tips: prolonged water exposure can soften bonds over time. Minimize submersion when possible.
After workouts, avoid leaving sweat sitting on the scalp and bonds. A gentle rinse or dry shampoo at the roots is fine between wash days.
Products to Use
Look for products that are:
✓ Sulfate-free
✓ Alcohol-free (avoid isopropyl or ethanol as primary ingredients)
✓ Silicone-free or low-silicone (heavy silicones cause buildup on bonds)
✓ Moisturizing and lightweight
Recommended product types:
Sulfate-free shampoo
Hydrating or reparative conditioner
Leave-in conditioner or detangling spray
Lightweight hair oil (applied to mid-length and ends only)
Heat protectant spray or cream
Dry shampoo for between wash days (apply at roots only, away from bonds)
✗ Sulfate or clarifying shampoos
✗ Dry shampoo sprayed directly onto bonds or wefts
✗ Heavy oils or butters applied at the root
✗ Alcohol-based styling products
✗ Bond-softening treatments near K-Tip bonds (certain keratin masks, oil treatments)
Products to Avoid
Your extensions are an investment — protect it with regular professional maintenance.
Skipping maintenance appointments causes grown-out bonds and wefts to put tension on your natural hair. Do not stretch your appointments.
Maintenance Appointments
Reach out before your next appointment if you notice:
A bond slipping or feeling loose
A weft lifting or separating
Unusual tangling that doesn't resolve with brushing
Any scalp sensitivity or discomfort at an attachment point
Do not attempt to re-attach, cut, or adjust bonds or wefts yourself.
